The privileges and responsibilities of reiki healers are vast and varied. One of the most basic of responsibilities of a master Reiki healer is to always be in tune with the divine power of chi or ki, from whence the power to heal and bless comes. The way that the Reiki healer does this is to spend sufficient time in prayer or meditation each day, in order to access this energy source and be able to utilize it for the benefit of others. True Reiki healing power comes from the time the healer spent in meditation and prayer, gleaning this divine energy source for the sharing and benefit of their recipients.
Conversely, this is how reiki healers themselves are empowered with a divine commission and responsibility to keep themselves healed and in tune, as well as being able to share this energy source with others. Of course, the benefit of this to the Reiki healer is that you find yourself more in tune with your chi or ki, and also have more access to the order and plan of divine beings and powers. This is a tremendous blessing to a true Reiki master, and those who possess this blessing know whereof I speak.
Another responsibility that reiki healers should take very seriously, is to keep their temporal body clean and free of toxic substances, in order for their physical health and constitution to be conducive to a powerful energy flow, to function through their hands. As a serious healer it is your privilege and responsibility to keep your inner vessel clean, in order to be a pure conduit through which divine energy power for healings can be given to others. This does mean that you have to watch the type and quality of foods and substances that you ingest into your body and mind, making certain that they are in keeping with your beliefs and philosophy for being a healer.
And finally, the most serious of responsibility that reiki healers must admit and adhere to is that the chi or ki, this divine power and energy, should never be used for self aggrandizement, or for self interest. This power is only loaned to the Reiki master, and they are in truth, only stewards of such. As mortal beings we are at a stage of our spiritual development which requires this to be the case. In the future we will be given Reiki energy and powers, but for now we are but the caretakers of this divine energy, and not the possessors of it.
